Alec Burks first team honor!

The second-year Jazz guard was named Friday to the Summer League first team, joining Detroit's Austin Daye, Orlando's Andrew Nicholson, and Indiana's Lance Stephenson and Miles Plumlee.

He's actually in great company.

Utah's Enes Kanter and Jeremy Evans earned honorable mention Summer League selections.

My favorite part about Summer League was that our #55 pick in Jeremy Evans was literally better than our #3 pick.

o_o

I still believe in Kanter, I really do, but its getting to the point where I'm more excited about Evans, to be honest.

This is horrible. Evans will be nothing more than a spark plug off the bench. He can't shoot, guard, dribble or anything other than jump. Without hustle he isn't anything. As of right this very second Kanter can rebound and defend. That's far more beneficial to a team than what Evans brings.

DeAndre Jordon?

Interesting that Austin daye's name is still heard in trade rumors. I would take him as a reserve sf. Happy for burks. Concerned for kanter and Evans eh still needs more work.

There is nothing to be excited about in Evans. Evans is about to turn 25, and is not going to improve dramatically. His ceiling is a decent bench player. Kanter, as disappointing as he was for a 3d overall pick, is already better than Evans (albeit not by much), and is 5 years younger, so he has some potential. Let's hope he starts realizing it.

Except for the fact that he is fun and exciting to watch.

With hops like that there has got to be a place for Evans somewhere...
I wonder if we can work out a trade with the Globetrotters? Evans for Cheese Chisholm?

Wow, people are souring on Kanter quickly. Too early in my opinion. Yes, there are things he needs to work on, but I think it's still way too early to tell. People are weighing the SL performance grossly disproportional to its meaning, in my opinion. Let's see how he does this season. After season 2, if there's not a pretty significant improvement, then I think we have enough data points to say. Certainly, however, not after one abbreviated season without training camp or many practices and the lousy summer league.

Worst...thread...ever

Getting amped on burks playing well in the freakin ORLANDo summer league? Jesus are our expectations this low?

Jazzyd speaks to this as an honor. Ehhhh? He should have dominated the ****tiest summer league in existince.

How old is Jeremy and how many years did he play at WK? Answer 24 and 4.
How old is Enes and how many years did he play at Kentucky? Answer 20 and 0.

I'd say KOC drafted a failrly finished player in Evans who might improve a little bit in terms of strength and shooting consistency.
Jazz drafted a project in Enes. I don't think we need to wait 4 years, though. Let's compare the Enes of next season to Jeremy.
