Tremendous Upside

Guys... I'm smelling a snub.

I dunno. Lauri has kept posting some gaudy stats, but lately he's been doing it a lot more quietly, role-player style, than early in the season. The emergence of Kessler in the middle has slightly pushed Markkanen away from the main action (pick & rolls), and seems like he's been doing more spot up 3pt shooting from the corners as a consequence. Plus teams are really paying attention to keeping him off the ball too.

Just feels like this kind of thing could have an effect. It's not like he's not facing some legit competition for the remaining spots.

There is literally zero chance Markkanen is snubbed.

He is a unanimous pick across media. You cannot find anyone with a media vote who doesnt put him in West reserves with Sabonis. I dont see how the coaches would see things so differently. The 3rd FC reserve is more wishy washy.

Yeah... still, the media as a whole seems to think Sabonis was already snubbed when he didn't make it as a starter. That's why he's an absolute lock for the reserves. Lauri isn't in that type of discussion at all.

I dont know what media you read but I have heard both Markkanen and Sabonis mentioned when someone criticised Zion selection. I've heard that from talking heads, writers and analysts.

U would think so... But Nate Duncan and Danny Leroux snubbed Markkanen. Danny even snubbed Sabonis as well. What a disgrace to his profession.

For a second I thought they had injury lists there... AD, Zion, PG, Kawhi, Booker...

Those 5 are not in NBA official leaderboards because they dont qualify. And Kawhi and PG stats are sugarcoated as they rest every other game and they still only score 21.8 and 23.3 PPG respectively.

How the **** can they keep pushing Kawhi as an all-star when he doesn't play in half the games and his team is straight trash, when they are supposed to be high-level contenders? Wow the LA bias is pretty ****ing strong.

I don't really agree with this at all. January was his best month of the entire season, he was averaging over 28 points a game...that's definitely not quiet or role player type numbers. I think he's an absolute lock.
