Another Wilson Chandler Lobby

Sorry, but yet another Wilson Chandler lobby. Here are some highlights. He seems to have a good all-around offensive game (jumpers, floaters, post-game, and range) and can finish well. He shot 35% from three last year and he’s young (24). He has good size, blocks a good number of shots for a small forward, and rebounds well.

He is not the best passer in the world (that is he doesn’t have an overabundance of assists) and doesn’t get to the line a ton either, but with how well he has played over the last few years, the Jazz should look at him rather than searching for one in the draft. This will allow the Jazz to be more flexible as well—rather than going into the draft with a position in mind.

I’m not sure how well he plays defense (I can't check Synergy for last year and beyond), but from the various NY Knicks forums, it seems like they think he is a great defender. If we could get a good slashing PG, Chandler would be a great complement to the team for the right price. What would you like the Jazz to pay for him (within reason)?

I'm a Chandler fan. Only problem I have though is that his shooting % dropped a lot from NYC to Denver. Could it be that D'antonis system made him look better than he is?

Could be, but I'm inclined to think that it was his fluctuating role on the team in addition to it being a new offense. He turned the ball over more, which suggests that he was not as oriented as he was in NY. He's young and could become very good. It may be a bit of a risk, but he could become one of the best SFs the Jazz have ever had. The Nuggies have just signed Gallinari and Afflalo to contracts, so maybe we could steal him in March.

He would be great but I think other teams will offer more money than the Jazz can/will and I doubt he chooses Utah as his destination when most teams will be pursuing him especially Championship contender teams. The only thing that might motivate him to sign here is the hope of being the starter, but even then he probably sees that its crowded and they have a young lottery pick starting at SF.

Im assuming the Jazz could have a shot at him. No way Denver needs him they just payed out for Gallinari, Nene and Afflalo.

I'm hoping for either Batum or Chandler and move Hayward to the SG.
