Disagree. When healthy, he definitely belongs in that discussion. Having that defensive anchor at center is key to having one of the best defenses in the league.

No, Gobert is not currently the best all-around Center in the NBA right now (although he may be top 5 already & definitely has the potential to be so some day). He is, however, probably the best defensive Center currently in the league & has all-time great potential on that side of the ball. His offense is what is holding him back from having that title right now & if he ever becomes at least average in that department one day, he probably will lay claim to that title. As of right this moment though, as far as all-around game goes, Davis (if you consider him a C), M.Gasol, Howard, & Cousins are all probably currently better than him. I fully expect that to change in the very near future tho.

Look, I love Rudy. He's a great defensive player. He is not, nor will he ever be as good as Anthony Davis.

Davis is 22 years old, and he's averaging 24/10/2/3. What makes you think he's not going to improve?

I get that Rudy is our guy and everything, but let's be a little objective. He's still a limited offensive player, and he's definitely not the best center in the league right now.

Hey, I'm a homer. I see Gobert completely change games defensively. AD gets his numbers, but teams don't simply refuse to go into the paint. Gobert is going to come back with a 3PT shot next season. Don't ever doubt the Stifle Tower!

I imagine if Davis wasn't relied upon on offense as much as he is (for valid reason), his defensive numbers would improve. Hard to be excellent on both ends, but he's damn close. Special player for sure.
