Any update on Burks?

The really sad thing is it will make it harder to trade him. We gotta get his salary off the books.

This. Even if we can't get rid of his contract, he's definitely not coming back to the Jazz unless it's for like 4 mill a year. He really hasn't played much since his contract extension

I doubt Burks will be close to what he was. Compare him to Jordan Crawford that the Jazz could have signed out of the DLeague. He signed with the Pels this year and had 14.9 ppg with a very good shooting %. He was on the same DLeague time with Ray McCallum and former Jazzman Kevin Murphy. He had about the same stats as those two in the DLeague. I realize Murph is dead to Snyder but McCallum has some time in the the Spurs.

i dont know if it is the name but he doesnt play defense either.

Yeah, **** them, but Burks was going to get injured eventually. The style that he plays with his body was not sustainable. Dude ends up on the ground far too often.

Sadly we likely get nothing back but yeah Ingles needs to stay and that is clearly the place to cut costs.

Sadly injuries have seemingly destroyed Burks.

Burks shot 39% 0-3 feet from the rim this year (He was in the solid low to mid 60's before his first injury).

You can't have those numbers and play for playoff basketball team.
 
What is more damaging to his stock:

"Alec Burks isnt good enough to get playoff minutes for the Utah Jazz"

"Alec Burks had to have a minor injection into his knee so he isnt healthy enough to get playoff minutes"

The first. If he's healthy and not getting minutes it's an issue. Someone will always look at the injury history and say "What if we can keep him healthy?"

I'm no MD but the injection should have left him good to go in a week. I think he's got more damage in the knee than the Jazz and the docs are letting on.
 
I feel bad for Burks. He is a nice enough guy. I just think he doesn't have that NBA spark. He has the athleticism but the game seems beyond him, not to mention the fact he is made of tissue paper and balsa wood apparently. I hope he is happy overseas. I really don't see us getting much for him, if anything. 2nd rounder maybe?
