You see, implied by this post is the following:
Police officers, military=courageous brave
transgender=cowards
Those are as equally false.
Personally, I reject the notion that we should view police officers or members of the military as heroes, and I'm tired of cultural pressure to do that. E.g., every frig'n Jazz game we are 'invited' to stand up and cheer whatever military person they choose to highlight that game. Can we please just stop that already? Many people in the military are honorable, some are heroes, but many are arseholes and many more are not heroes. Just serving doesn't make one a hero nor necessarily even laudable.
I find such 'hero worship' of the military and police forces, and the social pressure to conform to such worship (such as at Jazz games) every bit as annoying an example of political correctness as any suggestion that we must view Caitlyn Jenner as a hero.
