I'd love to see what they have to say about Utah in here...

6. 1996-97 Utah Jazz
Karl Malone, John Stockton, Jeff Hornacek
With the formula emphasizing production from each trio's third member, you might be surprised to see the Jazz here. Everyone knows the prodigious output Utah got from Malone and Stockton every season, but Hornacek also provided serious punch in 1996-97, posting double digits in Win Shares and Estimated Wins Added to help augment what was probably the best season of Malone's long and distinguished career.
I've said it once I've said it a thousand times Espn are robbing those who are Espn insiders I don't have Espn insider and I read this entire article on bleacher report.
Yeah Horace pretty much was a role-player...outstanding defender, good rebounder and could hit the midrange jumpshot. The formula the writer used to rank "Big 3's" was the harmonic mean of the top-3 players' win shares/added on each team - so most of the time the 3rd player was a "role player" w/a high WS that swung a trio's rating ahead of some more impressive duos that lacked a valuable #3.Incase your interested Jordan, Pippen, and Horace Grant are #1 on the list which seems weird because I always thought of Grant as just a good roll player.
