My prediction: he will miss the first 5-10 games, then come back straight into the starting lineup. After about 15 games of inconsistent yet often spectacular play he will barrel into the lane on a play, ignoring the open guys on the wings for 3, and spin around while trying to flip the ball off the backboard at an odd angle over a 7-footer and hit the ground hard. No foul will be called and Burks will head to the locker room holding his arm/shoulder/leg/ankle/hand awkwardly with the trainers in tow. He will then miss 30 games and come back in time to make everyone think that if only he had been healthy we would be a 2nd seed instead of fighting for the 7th or 8th playoff spot. Unreasonable expectations will abound and unfounded "optimism" will lead several to declare that next year when he is healthy he will be our new Hayward and will lead us to the promised land, since Hayward will have been traded at the deadline for picks and cash since we were at that time floundering just under .500.
Or he might be available opening night and have a nice season. Who knows?
