Well, Detroit had a 19-pt come from behind win against Boston, then had a road win at Atlanta their next game in April. And those two wins cost them the 9th pick in the draft. They had a top-8 protected pick but lost it when Cleveland won the lottery. SO maybe the lottery gods aren't necessarily pro-Cavs. Maybe they are just anti-Pistons or pro-Hornets. In fact, it could be the NBA's way of rewarding Charlotte. The town is all abuzz (pun intended) over getting their name back. And they also get all rights transferred to them from the Charlotte days that had belonged to the Pelicans. It's a big day in Charlotte, made bigger by also getting a top-10 pick, which was completely unexpected.
