I’m not arguing, just asking. Why did they have to shoot down this specific balloon? Because it’s the first one that the public was aware of? Or did they shoot down others also?
Nations act in the national interest. I would expect they would shoot down balloons that posed actual threats to national secrets when it is mostly safe, and don't shoot down others until it is completely safe to do so. Surely you don't think this is the first balloon China has sent over the US?

You didn’t answer my question at all. Why did they shoot this balloon and not others; or other spying crafts?

Surely you don't think this is the first balloon China has sent over the US?

You didn’t even read my post. Look at the last sentence. You just try to argue on everything I post. You just respond and try to argue the other point, even if I’m asking a question to get more information. @Gameface provided some great insight on the other thread. I was hoping he might have some insight on my question. You provided no details or new information and tried to talk down to me.
