Best Draft Outcome

Can't count Biyombo (or whoever we draft at #12) as part of the Deron deal. The Jazz earned that pick all on their own. Of course, Deron's terrible attitude was part of the team's slide, which in turn led to an additional lottery pick.

Yeah that's what I was getting at..

Also because we traded him away I think led to why we slid so much at the end of the season...

The slide was on BEFORE Deron was traded.
But yeah, the team "leader going, the coaching change, new players learning a different system - all that factored in. Looking back, I think the departures of Brewer and Korver really soured Deron on Utah. Also, he was unable to convince any key FA's to join him (remember he said he was going to do that). From that tight group, only Millsap and CJ (maybe) remain. I'm hoping there was no truth to Ford's rumors, but perhaps Paul isn't as happy as he once was with the organization and has expressed his dissatisfaction.

Best scenario --

Irving or Williams drop to #3.
--If that doesn't happen, I'm fine with Knight and Vesely and sort of okay with Kanter.

Biyombo or Montiejunas are available at #12.
--If that doesn't happen, I'm fine with Jordan Hamilton.

That would be terrible. We would get a 1 year rental of Howard before he bolts. If you added "Howard signs an extension" then yes, that would be awesome.

I think Orlando is going to call his bluff and keep him. I could think of worst places to live than Orlando. It's also important to keep in mind that he can make more there than other places because of state taxes.

They shouldn't sign albatrosses of contracts like Hedo, though. I have a hard time seeing how Dwight is going to compete with Miami and Chicago unless he bolts to the Western Conference.

Coming out of the Deron trade with Irvings and Favors would be great, and don't forget the trade chip of Harris if we get Irving or another point guard. I was one of the few that was excited with the trade when it happened.

If I could pick one ideal way that draft night unfolded, I'd choose the below chain of events:
Jazz trade #3 to WASH for #6 and #18.
Why do we want 3 rookies out of this draft? And why do we want 2 of those rookies to be the 12th and 18th picks?
Best-case scenario is David Kahn takes Kanter #2nd and Derrick Williams falls to #3.
