This has been talked about in a few other threads, but deserves a thread all to itself.

CLEVELAND — The Cavaliers have been talking with Charlotte about dealing their $14.5 million trade exception to the Bobcats for forward Gerald Wallace, sources confirmed to FOXSportsOhio.com on Friday.

The Cavs are also supposedly pushing for a lottery-protected first-round pick in a potential deal first reported by Yahoo! Sports.

They want Charlotte to give them a first rounder for taking the Cats' best player? Seriously I think that another team (like the Jazz) can take him off their hands.

This trade:

Doesn't require the Bobcats to take back ANY salary, although it goes against the Jazz's idea to not go further into the tax. Any other ideas on how we can land Wallace?

Can you imagine being traded to Cleveland right now?

p.s. Your trade idea blows. There are tons of 8-player trades going down these days...

The wording is poor and can be misleading. Cleveland is pushing a trade for Wallace for only a lottery-protected first round pick.

Denver wants to dump more salary, so you're going to have to add another team (Detroit).

Not bad, though the rumor probably meant that the Bobcats are trying to RECEIVE a pick. Maybe not? It really isn't anything resembling fair if the Cavs are getting a pick AND Wallace (beside that they should be dumping every player not on a rookie contract right now).

Who is Dump Gerald Wallace and what do the Bobcats want to do to him?
