Booker or Ingles?

I'm starting to think that Ingles is actually better than Booker. No, he can't jump like Booker nor is he as strong and energetic. But Joe is much more skillful, a better shooter and ball handler, by a large margin. And he's at least 2 inches taller -- after seeing them in person -- maybe even 3 inches. Joe looks more like 6-9 and Booker no more than 6-6. I know they're listed at 6-8 and 6-7, but it doesn't look like it. Ingles is big enough to be a stretch 4, and with his basketball IQ could be our Boris Diaw, though he doesn't have the bulk nor able score under the basket like Diaw. His basketball IQ to me really is the difference.

Or the Jazz could slide Hayward to PF. Gordon talked about that possibility during a preseason interview. But I think the answer is Lyles. He just needs to go through the usual rookie growing pains. Only way to get better is to play. Booker was adequate last season. I think 3 games is WAY too early to judge, If that's the case, Jazz should bench Hayward and give his job to Ingles or Johnson.

You mean bench Booker, right? You surely can't play Johnson, though, as a stretch 4. And Ingles is taller and longer than Gordon though I think Gordon may even be stronger. He was bulling his way through Paul George yesterday. I don't think they should bench Booker. I just think the answer is to play more Joe. Right now he is far better than Lyles for the 4 position, and Withey is better than Lyles at the center position. I think Lyles needs to go to the D-League.

The only way you could get the opposing team's PF to guard Hayward is if you had a lineup with Hoods/Burks/Hayward. I don't recall seeing that lineup very often in the regular season since I think Quin is trying to stagger minutes of guys who can score. Any lineup with Hayward at the PF will probably include Millsap or Ingles, so the opponent's PF would most likely guard them.

I actually agree with the idea that he could be very effective as a 4 (in limited circumstances). ESPECIALLY if Lyles is as much of a project as he appears and Booker continues to be Booker (only looks awesome in flashes and is a constant threat to be suspended/ejected).

Depends who we're playing. If the game is getting away from us and we're being outhustled and outrebounded and/or if it's getting heated I prefer Booker.

If we're playing a team who is more finesse and ball movement and floor spacing is especially important we choose Ingles.

Another thing I noticed about Joe, especially in his matchup with Budinger, is that Joe is a far superior player to Budinger who I always had thought was pretty good -- well, he can hit threes (surprisingly because his shot is kind of ugly). I don't know, maybe I'm biased about Ingles, but I think he is vastly underrated. Sometimes Quin will substitute him for Hayward and we don't even skip a beat. He seems to have a calming influence on the team. Trey ought to take lessons from him on how to run the point guard position.

Pretty sure Budinger has had a few major injuries that have really hampered him.
