Boredom trade ideas

Was reading an article on espn about players you can build a franchise around and I came up with these 2 trades for next year.

First - trade memo, bell (salary reasons), tomic, and a first round pick (Maybe gs pick next year or a conditional jazz pick) For Andre iguadala. He has had a bad knee and could be back next year. He is a consummate team player. Philly does it because the pick would probably be next year in a good draft. Not to mention a ton of salary flexibility. The save a lot of money.

Second - al Jefferson and cj miles to Indy for Danny granger and Tyler hansbrough. Indy gets a great pairing in Jefferson with the defensive minded Hibbert. George has shown that he can step in and fill the shoes of granger on the wing. The also get a great scoring punch off the bench in cj.

If you take this a step further and figure the jazz take the best center prospect in kanter of biyombo at 6 and then say leonard or Jimmer or BPA. ( for argument sake I will say Jimmer)

That would make the jazz look something like this

Harris, Jimmer, Watson ( or some one else I just like Watson )
Iguadala, Hayward
Granger, Hayward, Evans
Millsap, hansbrough, Evans
Favors, biyombo, free agent center maybe fes or elson back

Hayward is the first off the bench and could still get 20+ minutes a night could even compete for 6th man honors. Not sure how hansbrough would work it would be better to have a player that could play multiple positions. The jazz are still lacking a good center and a lot would ride on biyombo or kanters development. But it is a well rounded team

I hate to poke a few holes in you theories but here we go-

Hibbert is primarily a offensive player. After this years playoffs I think they will value Hansbourgh higher than CJ Miles. I think in Indy's mind Al Jefferson has the same value as Granger. So assuming Indy would do this trade.

You have small poorly rebounding roster. Who would you star player be? You have 3 high level complementary scorers in Millsap, Granger and Harris. Favors isn't ready to be star scorer and Iguodala doesn't have that ability.

Your team would be better next year than

Harris, Watson, Price
Hayward, Bell, Leonard
Miles, Leonard, Millsap, Evans
Favors, Millsap, Evans
Al Jefferson, Biyombo, Favors, Fess

But I like this team in a couple of years.

can we stop with the Granger obsession? Can we all realize that he doesn't fit with the youth movement? He'll be winding down before this team has a shot at anything significant. Iggy is more intriguing, but you're not getting him for what you've offered. Not even close. I can see Memo's expiring and a pick being good pieces for that trade, but you're going to have to give up some talent to have a shot.

Look, Indy is a great potential trade partner..... but you all know who I would be targeting in a deal with Indy

Dude, Jeff Foster's a UFA.

I don't really like it. AI and Granger taking all the minutes from Hayward. NO thanks! The thing about AI is, he is making like 17 million his last season. Maybe, if he could shot the 3ball, I might be more interested. But no thanks.

Plus, Utah could get better with Memo's insurance paid contract. Seriously, do you guys think Memo will ever play another game for the Jazz, I don't think so. I would be willing to trade our Golden State pick for Thad. Young though.

And if i'm going to make a trade involving a big. It's going to be Millsap not Jefferson. Millsaps trade value is to high not to make a trade.

What Utah needs to do; either; trade Millsap and the 12th pick for Lopez, Peitrus & 13 pick. Utah gets dept on the bench in Peitrus and the Pick. While getting a solid 7ftr better then Fez to work in the rotation with Favors and Jefferson.

Or

Millsap,Bell for Austin Daye, Pistons Lotto Pick. (they have the cap space to make it work) Utah cuts cap space. Can take a Euro Big project with there new pick, and gets a rotation player in Daye. While having enough money to sign Wilson Chandler or (don't hate me) Jr. Smith.

In normal years I'd be dreaming of trading Al for George + Posey + this year's first, then turning around and trading Posey's and Memo's expirings + 12th or Indy's pick for Iggy. You see, George can guard many 1s, and Hayward could be the playmaker, so you could potentially run Hayward, George, and Iggy as your 1,2,3 combo (for stretches). That length would suffocate a lot of offenses, and if they met Favors, Millsap, and Biyombo down low, booyah.

However, I think the lack of a CBA makes these kinds of draft-day dealings impossible.

I'd consider Iggy for Memo, Smiles AND Bell. We'd have two solid wings in Hayward and Iggy, Millsap to play the 3 in many spots, Evans to play it in others, and could sign a 2/3 (Azubuike?) at a cheaper rate than Bell or Smiles makes, thus saving money.

Azubuike just had another knee surgery. And AI is great but, will he be the one, to get us back into contention or Playoffs? And I don't see them taking the deal.

I don't think Philly's gonna go for anything like that. In order to get Philly to bite, it would probably have to be Okur + Bell/Raja + pick. Maybe 2 picks. More than likely, they're gonna want Millsap/Jefferson in a deal for Iggy.

Who wouldn't do that trade? Um yeah, That's the worst, lopsided trade in Nba History. The 76er's wouldn't do that trade. Then you sum it up, that the Jazz sign an injuried Player, Azubuike to fill out there rotation. Here's one for KEK. Utah Trades Okur, Bell, and Miles 4 Stephen Curry and Biedrens. I like it and it's fair for everyone

Well look at Philly they have a player playing on a bum knee yes he could be just fine next year. They are one of the teams hurting for money. Iggy makes a lot of it. When you dump his kind of salary you want young assets in return. The gs pick is that asset. I would not give them 2. They are saving a butt load of money especially is insurance ends up paying for memo. Jazz are taking a huge risk bringing in a player with a known injury that is going to make a lot of money.

Ok let's remove hansbrough from the Indy equation and add rush in as a s and t player. They are talking of letting him walk. I think rush is a lot like cj but for cheap might be worth it.

As for granger and iggy taking haywards min he is the primary back up to both of them that should allow him to get 25 to 30 min a game

I don't know much about Iggy's knee, but I do know his contract is retarded, he's not a very good shooter, and knees tend to be problematic once injured.

I would consider throwing them expiring trash for him, but in no universe would I consider trading them a guaranteed lottery pick in what will probably be one of the most stacked drafts ever.

If anyone suggested trading for Big Al during last off season tell us who to trade for now bacause obviously you can see the future
