Burks: 6th Man or Starter?

There's no comparison between Hayward's rookie season and Burks rookie season, even if you factor in the Kobe game or Hayward's last 12 games.
You mean like the nearly identical stats, other than Burks taking more shots and getting to the line more, but with Hayward having much much higher shooting percentages, and getting 17 starts to Burks' zero?

I realized your first point, and edited my post, but too late, you beat me to it.
As for your second point, yes, i compared rookie seasons, very similar stats except for the above.
Gordo shot 47% from 3 his rookie year... big drop off this year.

If all you're looking at is shooting percentages, you're missing the story. Especially when we saw Hayward's shooting percentages as a starter.

I guess we disagree, I think, although I'm not sure why you make your conclusions. You are saying that Burks had a better rookie season, right?

I'm of the opinion that Burks should be our 6th man, not just for this upcoming year, but also for the foreseeable future. This depends a lot on who we get for our other starting guard, but here's the reasons why I like him as a 6th man over starting.

-I prefer my starting 2-guard to be a good shooter AND very good defender. Burks is a passable to maybe good defender, and as of right now, an average shooter at best. He clearly has the potential to get better in these areas, but as of right now, he's not there.

-Burks is a killer off the drive. He can get to the hoop seemingly at will and get to the line. It's a very useful skill. I'm of the opinion that having a guy coming off the bench who can drive is extremely useful for a team because: a) it's going to be easier for him to drive because theoretically, he has more energy than his defender and b) it's very important for a team to have a reliable scorer off the bench.

I would vote for Burks getting 25+ minutes off the bench, and then if he improves he can be a 30+ off the bench guy, similar to Harden/Ginobili. Having a go-to-guy off the bench just seems so important to me, and if we don't have Burks coming off the bench to score for us, who do we have? Miles can't do it, Kanter won't be it, Carroll clearly isn't it...if we could convince Millsap to do it, I would be for that as well, but I don't think that will happen. Therefore, Burks should be our 6th man next year and in the future.
