Can the Dick Stockton Experiment please end!

I was quite taken aback when the TNT guys post-game suggested that "Jerry Sloan must be turning over in his grave" - anyone else notice that?

You complain about Dick Stockton when Chris Webber is the other guy talking.

Webber= complete GARBAGE

At one point Dick Stockton said... " He missed 2 of 3 from the line." Someone just missed both their free throws. He is awful

Dick Stockton has always been bad and he is seldom prepared. When Ron Boone was doing the afternoon talk show back in the 90's, he told a story about Dick Stockton. Stockton came to town to do the national broadcast of the game for which Karl Malone was suspended for knocking out David Robinson. The Malone incident was a big story nationally. Dick Stockton came up to Boone and said he had heard that Karl Malone was not playing and surprised and wondered why Malone was out of the lineup. Boone told him he was suspended for the Robinson incident. "What incident?" Stockton asked. Boone said he was shocked that a guy doing a national broadcast didn't prepare very much. Apparently Boone had never heard Stockton announce a game.

Has to be one of the worst pairings of all time for a nationally televised game. Stockton starting to go down the Harry Carey route. Will retire after this year if he has any sense.

Why? He's been this way for 30 years and all he has to look forward to is banging Leslie Visser.

Dick Stockton (along w/Reggie Miller) did the first 2 Warriors/Jazz games in the 2007 Western Conference Semifinals - as good a 2 games as there has ever been in Jazz playoff history - and was absolutely awful - the worst announcing I've ever heard. At one point, Millsap took a charge at the same time AK flew in to block the shot, and Stockton randomly blurts "-and a block goaltending an offensive foul" hoping he was right on one of them.
Let's put it this way, he was paired w/Reggie Miller, and when Reggie Miller's the better half of the announcing team - you're pretty crappy.

i reflexively mute the Jazz broadcast as soon as it comes on (thanks to bolerhack). i don't even think about it. it just happens. so, i guess what i'm saying is, nothing Stockton/Webber said bothered me in the slightest.

no doubt Stockton was all over that last 1.2 seconds. he nailed it, i'm sure. myself, still trying to figure it out, what it all means, etc.

That's a joke that they always use. Charles Barkley always says x must be turning over in his grave. The joke is that x is never dead. Often Kenny Smith points that out.

It never gets old for me, but I love Charles Barkley.

i got a lot of negative rep for this thread. so seems like people disagree with me about dick stockton. too bad they are such cowards and dont sign it.

Anyone else notice last night how they were giving the Nuggets points when the Jazz scored and how they were giving Jazz points when the Nuggets scored? It happened for about 2 minutes. I was suprised the broadcasters didn't see what was going on. Instead the Jazz were really up by 4 but the score said the Nuggets were up by 2. Now I know why Dick never said anything.
