For anyone too young to have watched The greatest pg of all time, and pound for pound toughest player in the league. This is who Stockton was. And for u old farts out there, a trip down memory lane. This is why he's my favorite jazz player of all time.

Thee Jazz fan is rrrreal tough, too, gais. He's the Stockton of Water Cooler Conversations.

It's this one right? One of Sloan's best moments.
“Man, one time I set a pick on (John) Stockton and I knocked Stockton to the ground and I gave him a shoulder. And I’m really cool with Stockton but I was trying to show the rest of the team like I’m going to get the technical, you guys. I’ll be the bad guy, come on. Well, Stockton kind of laughed. I laughed. I looked at the bench and Sloan looked at me.

I said, ‘You want some?’ He was like, ‘Damn right I want some.’

He started walking toward me. So, you know, it’s a good thing there was a ref there because, hey, he’s one of the toughest guys in the league. I don’t want to fight that guy. So, I’ll tell you, when your team is led by one of the toughest guys in the league, your team is going to be tough.”

Not only did Jerry Sloan want to fight Chris Webber immediately after the cheapshot, but later when asked why he thought Webber wanted to hit Stockton, Sloan’s response was because he wasn’t man enough to hit Karl Malone.

I'll never forget Stockton and Malone.

One of my best memories: one night with my family, we were on a trip in a hotel room and we had to get up real early the next morning for of my sister's big ballet audition so my mother was demanding to turn off the lights and TV for bed. Here's the Jazz playing late into the night in a playoff game and it's just halftime, I pleaded to keep it on. My dad helped me win that battle so there I was on the floor at the foot of the bed watching this game on low trying to be real quite, it's an intense game and Stockton hits a game winner at the buzzer from behind half court and I hear my dad scream in unison with me. ;) Had no idea he was watching, great memory.

I can't remember what team it was against, I was young but I don't think it was that famous shot against Barkley, from best of my memory it was a game winner from behind half court. A playoff game for sure.

I remember this. It was the first possession of the game and Webber leveled Stock. Webber got a common foul. It injured Stock. Nobody ever admitted it, but Stock was not the same after that hit. There were even rumors that he had surgery over the following summer to repair the damage that Webber caused. I hate Webber and think he is a punk.

**** Webber...

To put Stockton's durability into perspective...George Hill and Derrick Favors have missed more games this season combined than John Stockton missed in his entire 19 year career.
