Christian Domestic Discipline; or "How Jesus approves of BDSM"

While visiting a slightly more colorful forum, I found someone post this:

https://www.christiandomesticdiscipline.com/

Here's an article from Huffington Post on it

And a slightly more slanted article from gotquestions.org

And a manual! 54 pages! Nothing graphic.

What is Christian Domestic Discipline? In short, wanna spank your wife? Wait for her to burn the pancakes.

CDD is a lifestyle in which spanking and other punishments (loss of privileges, time outs, etc.) are used to maintain an orderly, Christian household, according to christiandomesticdiscipline.com. The man is dominant, and the wife is submissive, as detailed in the Bible, the site explains.

Spankings for children is nothing new.. but for the wife? .... kinky.

How do the women in CDD households feel?

Many of them report feeling extremely calm and relaxed after being disciplined, and believe it is an expression of their husband caring about them and their marriage, enough to help them modify their behaviour. After the spanking, they are granted a clean slate. They don’t need to endure the days of tension and *crappiness* that can follow an argument unresolved through discipline."

That's... different. To me, it feels like controlled spousal abuse, but without the black eyes. But having grown up in strong LDS environment, and seeing how wives can sometimes back down quickly, I wonder how often this actually happens. Moreover, some practitioners of CCD aren't satisfied with it just because it "cleans the slate", or because it allows them to show that they care enough to correct a situation, or because it allows them to take out frustration. Some actually feel that it's an extension of their spirituality. Using spirituality as an excuse to spank your wife just seems wrong to me.

Now, I openly mock this only because I don't understand it. Just because I don't understand it doesn't mean it's wrong. All joking aside, there are those that may take this seriously. Tell us about it. I seek to understand your vision of how a family unit needs to run.

I read a couple pages. Comes off sounding more like those Christians that mix New Agey stuff into the religion to me. It's creepy either way.

"Clint" and "Chelsea" started it though huh ? I'm no Dan Brown, but I'd say that clearly is code telling us that Chelsea Clinton is behind the movement.
