Churches will not be required to perform gay marriages

I wish the pastor would have had some balls and performed the ceremony at the original church. That said, I haven't really been in a situation where I've had to make a decision that came down to my job vs. my conscience.

I forgot how Aryan Jesus was. Yeah..

The most interesting thing about that article was another off to the side that said I can't take a gun inside the Republican National Convention. Bunch a log cabin republicans.

I'm a little bothered going to relatives home in Colorado where they are really religious. There is a picture of Jesus literally in every room, even in the bathroom. Really, makes it hard for alone time with him staring at you. That's another story though. Why is he stone cold white in those pictures? Is there really any way Jesus had this skin color? I respect their love of Christ, the man was God like, but shouldn't he
actually look like....I don't know, himself?

Seeing as when and where Jesus was born I think he has an tan color. Just like the middle east residents today. I do not see him as strictly white.

Probably because painting Him like revolutions9 1:13-16 describes would scare the children.

13 and in the midst of the candlesticks one like unto a son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about at the breasts with a golden girdle.

14 And his head and his hair were white as white wool, [white] as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15 and his feet like unto burnished brass, as if it had been refined in a furnace; and his voice as the voice of many waters.

16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

You act as though Jesus was the genetic offspring of some folks from the area where he was born. As far as the myth is concerned that's not the case. God could have placed any color of fetus in Mary's womb.

I'd have thought there was a pretty good chance people in the middle east at that time were black, by our standards, you know like half black , and the people people back then were smart enough to call that white, because, well, why not?

but I wouldn't know. are there any written definitive descriptions?

Pretty sure that if God put a white baby in a darker colored community, somewhere in all the notes someone would have mentioned that. On the other hand , I guess all the notes were made decades or centuries later, and heavily vetted, so they could have edited that out, (or the black baby in the white community too, if that were the case.)

If one used the past as guidance, 20 years ago churches might have concluded that there was no downside to allowing sexual molestation. How's that attitude working out for them lately?
