The Portland Trail Blazers will be without C.J. McCollum indefinitely after the rookie guard broke his left foot again, this time during practice Saturday in Tualatin, Ore., the team announced on Twitter.
McCollum fractured his fifth metatarsal bone and will need surgery. The Blazers said a timeframe for his return will be established after the procedure.
The injury is the latest setback for McCollum, the 10th overall pick in this year's NBA draft.
The 6-foot-4 guard starred at Lehigh but broke the same foot during a game in January. He was leading the country in scoring (25.7 points) at the time.
According to the Blazers team website,
McCollum was injured Saturday while trying to fight through a screen set by Wesley Matthews.
