Why didn't the Jazz find one young fast small guy that can score for the current roster?
I suspect the Jazz brass are still having nightmares about the Jazz losing to teams with bigger guards back in the 90s, but some of these guys don't cost that much. It doesn't have to be a starter, but every team should have at least one of these types of guys on the bench.
 
I think it's because typically those guys aren't that good, but when they play against our putrid pick-and-roll defense, they look like all-stars...I dunno, just a thought, I'm probably wrong
 
Barrea was key for the Dallas title run, and Beaubois is looking to fill in that niche.
Lin is a hero in New York right now, and he doesn't even have a guaranteed contract.

I think he passed the deadline and is guaranteed now.
 
From my understanding, Aaron Brooks will be a RFA once he is done with his China team in March. Would he be one to consider?
 
I don't follow all of the players. I am just saying that it seems some smaller players are undervalued and can be found cheap before they become established.

Regarding Price, he's not that young, and he wasn't much of a scorer...

I'd like to give a chance to some young cheap unknown player that is fast, can score anywhere on the court, will have a fg% near 50%, but is not known because maybe he is smaller than most NBA players, or is playing in some far corner of the planet, or maybe he is just getting good on a college team, or was passed over a couple years ago and deserves a second look.

I think every team in the NBA would have him already on a roster if this was the case. Problem is, that doesn't exist that often.
 
I bet there are a lot of players that have the potential to shoot lights out but are passed over because they are a bit small for the NBA.
(I should say close to 50% from 2, close to 40% from 3)
 
Lin has torn up Dwill, Wall, and us.

It's not just "our" P&R defense he's shredding.

If he takes apart the Lakers how will Tebo... I mean, Linsanity... How ridiculously popular is this kid going to be? IF... IF... He tears up the Lakers tonight? And maybe even pulls a win out of his rear?

I personally am hoping for it. Not only would it help our own standings having the lakers lose, but I think it goes to show how overrated punkass superstars like Amare and Melo are. With those two? The knicks are a pathetic excuse for an NBA team. Without them plus Lin? They're a pretty darn good team with a potent offense.

I actually wish that Amare and Melo would have played the other night. I think our chances of beating the KNicks would have increased had those two been fighting over the ball instead of watching Lin tear us apart and distribute the ball around to guys like Novak.
 
Mr. Lin has 34 on the Lakers mid-4th quarter... I've watched some of it. This kid is the real deal; smart AND athletic, with some length to him. Playing under control; doesn't get rattled... I wonder how this will work when Crymelo and Mired come back...

Why? Because other GM's are actually fairly competent too. And how could or should every team have guys like these on their bench? You named four guys. Who are the other 26 guys in the league who would fit that bill?
 
There is no dearth of quality PGs right now and it's been that way since the 2009 draft. I suggested this a month ago, and I bet the Jazz staff was thinking about it earlier. What they're doing IDK but it might include a player returning from China- is there a list somewhere of all the players that fall into that category?
