The point was that when you go right into "its about gays" or "the 2nd amendment" you lose all chances of your argument being heard.

Society has destroyed those terms because peopel throw them out left and right unfoundedly.

I'd argue that thru there use over nearly anything that they almost have no meaning anymore.

Obama passed the ACA? HE'S AFTER MY GUNS!!!

You don't agree with the ACA? RACIST!!!

Thru the exceedingly liberal use of those terms they have lost to much of their weight.

To me a charge of racism/bigotry/sexism/removal of rights should make people stop and take notice of what the hell is happening. All it does now is just get ignored.

So technically they mean the same thing but in reality they have lost the power they should have.

Perhaps you are right. But lately franklin has been unfriendly towards me. So I assumed (if I am wrong then my bad) this was more of the same.

You're probably confused because demagoguery wasn't the best term. What stoked did was first play victim to divert attention, & mixed it with his characteristic god-complex declaration that something has no merit because he says so. He then attempted to justify that with some bizarre, self-contradictory explanation that cowhide used loaded language but that those terms are no longer loaded and instead meaningless. "Crying wolf" was probably the term to use.
