First of all, I have never yelled at an opposing player. The only thing I've done is boo an opposing player. Secondly, I never heard Smart pull the race card. The only report I heard was from the media insinuating that the N word was used. I am sure that Smart was upset with turning the ball over and got pissed because this guy was calling him a piece of crap. Maybe, some college student might think about calling players name but this guy is a 60 year old man who should know better. It seems like you are trying to minimize the severity of the situation because the N word wasn't said. Unless you have some video of Smart actually accusing the man of using the N word than your criticism against smart isn't really justified.

You're right, I only know what I have read in the papers and online. Frankly, it doesn't matter if he pulled the race card or not. I've heard fans yell much worse things at ward ball games and Jr. Jazz games. "You're a piece of crap!" is worth shoving a fan and being suspended? Please. That guy could have said a myriad of other things and I still wouldn't be upset at him. If he had used a slur, then it would be different. If he had gone after his mom or his family, then it would be different. But as it appears, this is extremely tame and Smart is a moron.
