Defense:

Lets get to the gist of this matchup. You have Durrant, who is amazing, and a bunch of senior citizens taking contested jumpshots.

Gobert is enough to guard the hoop against whatever comes toward it from this crew, leaving long and athletic defenders to hassle the jumpshooters. In fact, the ghost of Roy Hibbert is bad enough that Aldridge could defend the rim against him leaving Gobert free to trap and deny Nowitzki should it come down to it.

So you have Wade and Durrant. Wade isn't near what he was, and they would have to deal with a diet of Danny Green, Afflalo, and Aaron Gordon, with a long Rudy Gay switching on to Wade when he is in the game. Durrant will get points, but he will need to earn them. It is well known the best way to defend Durrant is to constantly pressure him with physical atleticism. I have the players to do that.

Finally, I still love D-Will, but he is done. He is now under 40% from the field. I suspect that I should be able to double Teague off of him from time to time if I need to.

Keep in mind that this is assuming that all of these players come back healthy and are available to play. That is certainly not a given. Every single starter has question marks.

Offense:

Dirk v. Aldridge- Basically a wash? Are you kidding me? Since when does Dirk protect the rim? How is this defense going to stop Aldridge from scoring? They can't. Aldridge is going to have a field day with the geriatrics plus Durrant. Are you going to bring a disinterested Hibbert out to defend Aldridge? Gobert will literally make Dirk cry and Aldridge will still go off.

Gobert vs. Hibbert- Hibbert, if interested, MAY be able to help check Gobert at the rim, but it certainly wouldn't allow him to stop a lot from other directions. Plus, Hibbert is a wuss. Gobert is not.

Gay vs. Durrant. Durrant isn't going to have the energy to stop Gay. In order to stay competitive, Durrant is going to need to score 50 a game. He can't do that and hold down Gay as well. Look for Gay to go off.

Green vs. Wade. We have seen that movie. Green set records. Here are the highlights:

Teague vs. Williams- Williams just isn't checking Teague. I'm not sure Williams could check ME anymore.

And as for the "Manimal" being some sort of beast? Dude isn't even starting for Denver. DENVER!

Did OL just say that Hibbert and Dieng is equal to Gobert and Lopez? Lolololol.

Framer wins this easily. Wade is hurt by now anyways. The Wandering Geriatrics aren't making it through a tough 7 game series.

I'm probably still bitter from my Round 1 loss to Framer, but I still don't see what everyone sees in his team beyond a lust for Gobert. One Love has the best player on the floor in Durant and the much better bench filled with shooters and rebounders. 10 minutes of The Truth is better than anyone on Framer's bench playing 30.

Agreed... thanks bro :)

Respectfully,
1. My squad is elite defensively. Gobert is part of that, but he wasn't just a sop pick to say "Look I have a good rim protector, defense taken care of!" (like Hibbert was.) I have 3 good rim protectors (and Johnson doesn't suck, either.) Additionally I have good to great defensive options at the wings, and my starting point guard is a pretty good defender. My backup point has size as well. Jazz fanz love Gobert, but we have also come to appreciate good defense now. That was a calculation I made.
2. My team looks a lot like a younger Spurs team with Gobert added in for fun. The spacing is tremendous and every starter has a role. My bench either duplicates that positional role, or adds in more defense. I didn't pick best player available. I put together a team.
3. My team isn't collecting social security. Also, there aren't any head cases on the team.
4. There is no way in Hell that One Love's team outrebounds my squad.

I also want to point out that I picked dead last in order to even things out. I would have done more had I been able to get my hands on a Kevin Durrant than put him on a geriatric legends team.
