Would someone please post the depth chart?
Use only actual players and then below some assumptions (draft/Tomic, etc) if you like.

Is this pretty much it?

Exum - Burke - Cotton
Burks - Exum - Hood - Hayward - Millsap
Hayward - Hood - Ingles - Johnson - Cooley
Favors - Booker - Jerret - Evans
Gobert - Favors

Did I miss anyone? Who likely will NOT be on the team that I have listed?
 
So our weaknesses seem to be;

Veteran leadership at the PG spot (though I love Exum).
Shooting depth on the perimeter.
Favorable back up at the 4/5.. with hopefully some offense.

Right?

This is the team I would like to see, tbh. It's 13 players with room for two more, I didn't post any players twice in the depth chart (even though I know it's not how it works). Johnson, Jerrett, and Cooley are meh, I do think Jerrett has potential though. Lol, three left-handed players in the second unit.

I do think we need to trade Burke, like a lot of people have mentioned maybe offer Burke, #12, OKC pick, GSW pick and see how far we can move up.

I don't think Burks will be going anywhere before he plays and shows he's back from injury. I don't see anyone trading for him otherwise.

Pretty much agree with White Chocolate. But I'd like Utah to add some size at the wing. I know Hood, Jingles and Hayward are technically all the same height, but only Hayward is a real physical player. If Utah can't move up, it seems like Dekker or Looney could some size at SF. Would also be in favor of drafting Lyles or Turner to strengthen the 4/5 rotation. No guarantee Tomic comes over, but if he doesn't, I see Utah adding Pleiss to the roster. I think DL/QS will see if Booker can add a consistent corner-3 to his game before making an expensive move to get a stretch-4. Everyone loves Booker and if he can just extend his range (which he was starting to do), he could be a long-term solution.

My only wish, really, is to replace Trey. He doesn't play fast and wants to dominate the ball when he's in the game, That's just not what we need from a PG.
 
Dekker, Hezonja, or S.Johnson could slip into Ingles role. We know which one of them will be there at 12, so Dekker most likely. SG, PF, C roles are 100% covered, I see no minutes at all here.

The team's future will depend on what DL wants to do at PG. Burke and Cotton are probably life long backups. Does he want to wait around for Exum, or does he go out and get a veteran PG like George Hill to start and develop Exum off the bench?

Assuming Tomic comes over. Still think we could use a 5th big to develop, especially if he's a shooter (unless Jazz see promise in Jerrett). I agree re: PG. But QS could still have Exum start, play 6 mins and come out for a veteran. Vet could get equal or even more PT than Dante coming off the bench. I don't mind Dante starting. He's clearly the 5th option, which he should be and his role is just to push the pace and play defense. Hopefully he becomes a little more confident and more consistent with his shooting.

What really is the point of having Dante start though if you get a flat our better player. If the Jazz make the playoffs they will want to start their best 5, and changing it up then would cause chemistry imbalances.
 
I agree with you that what we seem to need is some shooting on the perimeter, a big and possibly a 'vet' PG. I am putting the unknowns in parentheses.

Exum - (stopgap backup/vet) - Cotton
Burks - (shooting wing) - Millsap
Hayward - Hood - Jingles
Favors - Booker/(back up big)
Gobert - (Tomic)/(back up big)

Notes:
(stopgap backup/vet)* - I think right now we are forced to give Burke starter minutes as a backup. I feel like we can do better than that and if we need a PG to play starter's minutes off the bench, I'd be looking at someone like Cory Joseph or vet in free agency to take on that role while we are waiting on Exum to be ready for full-time starter minutes and responsibility.
(shooting wing) - depending on what level of SG we are able to get, he might move ahead of Burks on the depth chart(for example if by some miracle we are able to steal a Danny Green type of player in free agency), if we do it in the draft he gets slotted behind Burks and ahead of Millsap in the depth chart.
(backup big) - if we trade for our shooting wing(or if we give a lot of money to FAs), chances are Booker would have to go, thus we probably would need to draft a big - Kaminsky/Portis/Looney(if we don't trade the pick), or Jarell Martin type(if we trade the first round pick).
(Tomic) - that's the big known-unknown. Again if he doesn't come over this season, chances are he never will and we can scratch him off our minds forever, If he doesn't come we might have to look into drafting a center - Poeltl/Turner/Kaminsky

There are a lot of unknowns and a lot of possible combinations, thus it's really hard to build a reliable depth-chart for next season. One thing is for sure - our FO has some choices to make this summer... the good thing is we seem to have options to choose from.

What has been the point of having SA bring Manu off the bench for so many years when he was clearly one of their best players?
It's about chemistry and fit. Utah will have a couple of playmakers in the their starting-5 with Hayward and Burks or Hood. You have those two, Favors and even Gobert wanting to score. There are only so many shots to go around. Remember how we used to complain about Hayward being invisible in the 1st a lot of games? That all magically changed once Trey went to the bench.

If the vet PG was a 3PT shooter (like Fisher used to be alongside Kobe), then yes, he'd be a good fit as a starter. If the vet PG is just a better version of Trey, then he's a better fit as a 6th man when you need that player's scoring with most of the starters out of the game.
