deron should not play the entire second half

well for the 2nd time sloan let deron play almost the entire 2nd half
against dallas and agaisnt heat as far as i know and both have resulted in losses.

Do you make these fail threads on purpose, or can you just not help it?

why is it a fail thread?

deron should rest somehwere between the 3rd and 4th qtr. against dalles he did not against miami he did not. they both resulted in a loss.

just look with ur eyes and see he is making mistakes and is tired

It is not unheard of for a player to play 40 minutes in tough games every now and then. Deron had 3 TOs, which is not as devastating as you make it sound.

Agreed. Bad call by Sloan. Deron literally threw the ball right to a Miami defender twice down the stretch. Also bricked some key three's from not having his legs.

no its not UNHEARD of. but you can expect him to be fresh. especially 40 minutes against the defense that was focused on him he just need a breather between the 3rd and 4th like ussual.

s;oan stopped trusting price and watson since the dallas game

glad you agree cus i was atrting to doubt my sanity. getting harped on for making a fail thread.

the same derron we had in the 2nd half vs the mavs or lets say 4th qtr

i think it is more of miami anticipating the pass in the post off of the double team. it was pretty much the same play twice in a row and it resulted in a TO both times. they had that play pegged. Dwill should have just been more aggressive in the first half.

I agree with the original poster, Deron sucks. Lets see if we can trade him to the Lakers for Steve Blake. Or maybe Fisher so he can be closer to New York....

Earl or Ronnie would not have saved us in this game. The offense seemed worse with Earl in tonight, I thought.
And Deron actually had a very strong 2nd half, started getting to the hole. There were obviously a few of our players that couldn't buy a bucket tonight, but the team just had a day off and I don't think we can blame fatigue.
We absolutely needed our stars out on the floor in the second half just to keep it that close.

They had the play pegged because their entire team was camping in the paint waiting for Deron to try to get the ball to Jefferson. There was no fear of us hitting the outside shot so they packed it in and made the inside pass impossible.

That does not mean it is smart. If Deron is tired and operating at 50% efficiency, is he better than Watson? I don't think so.

Also, to have any chance to go anywhere in the post season you have to have a decent bench. So you have to develop and trust them now, even if it costs some angst and a game or two. But ole Jer cannot think beyond the next quarter; he has no strategic thinking for winning a ring, just the this game. Unlike Popovich, who rests his starters toward the end of the season to get ready for the playoffs.

I agree with DJ. At least two of those turnovers were bad plays in which he telegraphed the pass and tried to force it inside to Big Al. AK made the same mistake as well. So, that's three turnovers that were bad plays and at a crucial time in the game. The observation about no outside shooting is valid. CJ was off, and there is no one else who can come in and reliably deliver from the outside. Maybe when Memo comes back that will change.

A 2-3 minute break for Deron isn't going to lose the game. In fact, the Price and Watson combo bring in a burst of energy that usually helps. It's a judgment call on Jerry's part, not anything egregious, and I think he will adjust.
