At the same age, Howard probably was as finesse as, if not more than, Favors right now. He sure can develop into the type of player Howard is, considering he is only 19. And if he can become that type of player, it would be the most ideal situation for the Jazz.

At that same age Howard was averaging 12, 10 and 2 bpg straight out of high school. Howard is a freaky combination of athleticism and strength and it's not fair to Favors to compare him to Howard yet. Let Favors be Favors and just quit with this silly comparison stuff.

What Karl would do in this situation is drain the 18 foot fallaway with a big hand in his face. Or Karl might back over his man like a tree stump and break the rim into tiny little pieces dunking it. Now go ahead Derrick, do what what Karl would do.

Just because he was a great player doesnt mean he is a great coach or teacher.

True, but we have no idea what he'll be. Don't you want to try?

I'm not saying Malone would be a great coach or teacher, but are we idiots not to try for free?
Malone said in his recent interview that it would be a trial, and that everyone could walk away if it didn't work out.

Guys like Antoine Carr and Donyell Marshall took their games to a new level as a result of working alongside Karl, so he can clearly motivate people in the right direction. It didn't work out the same with Ostertag.

Carr had his best years before he was in Utah.

Marshall couldn't leave fast enough because Sloan made him bang in the paint instead of play the perimeter where he was more comfortable. If Malone was such an influence why was he a jump shooter the rest of his career?

Ostertag was the one guy Malone took under his wing and he played well enough to get a contract extension.
