LOS ANGELES — The Utah Jazz faltered in the fourth quarter and couldn’t pick up their second win over the Los Angeles Clippers in five days, falling 105-94 at the Staples Center on Sunday night.
Here are three takeaways from the game.
- Donovan Mitchell and Kawhi Leonard put on a show in the fourth quarter. Mitchell had 17 points in the final period and finished with a game-high 36. Leonard, who was held to 5 points on 1 of 9 shooting in the first half, had 18 of his 30 points in the fourth.
- The Clippers had 18 offensive rebounds, compared to six for the Jazz, which led to Los Angeles owning a 29-8 edge in second-chance points.
- While Utah held the Clippers, which entered the game shooting a league-best 49.6% from the field, to 39.1% during the game, Los Angeles shot 50% from the field in the fourth quarter. That included making 4 of 10 3-pointers — two from Leonard — and going on a late 8-0 run fueled mainly by free throws to open up a one-point game.
