Do tips count as shot attempts in stats, and can you look up the shooting % on them for a player?

Yes. And no, I don't know how you can specifically look up tips. 82 games has "close" and "dunks". But I've never figured out how they break that down. I'll be you'd have a shot at this stat at synergysports.com, but it's not free.

Now what constitutes a controlled tip? I've never bothered to look up the definition - all I can say is I know one when I see it.
