What's new

Does the Kentucky basketball program turn you into an entitled jerk?

So it's my fault that you can't spell? I didn't know I had such a profound effect on your life.

John T. Scopes. Teaching all that evolution and sh@t.

Perhaps we should derail this thread. Good Call Hearsky.

Anyone watch the first episode of Ted Talks: Into the Abyss on Netflix? Undersea vents, which we hardly know exist, spew precious minerals from the molten center of the planet. It then turns to rock when it gets to the ocean floor.

That was some pretty cool stuff.

My understanding is Jamal Mashburn has had one of the most successful post basketball careers of any recent player. Probably the most successful if you exclude players that have not gone into broadcasting or mass media.

Indeed.

Jamal Mashburn’s Empire
Jamal Mashburn Owns Papa John's and Outback Steakhouses

On the opposite end of the spectrum you have people like Jamal Mashburn. He played in the NBA for 13 seasons, earning $75,623,634 over that time. Instead of squandering it, he invested the money and now owns 71 restaurants (specifically, 34 Outback Steakhouses and 37 Papa John’s), as well as car dealerships! Why? Jamal said in a recent interview, “I’ve always wanted to carry a briefcase. It’s just something you want to do growing up in NYC. When I was younger, I always wondered what was in them.” Today, it’s a fairly good guess that Jamal’s proverbial briefcase is stuffed with massive dividend checks from the millions of dollars in profit thrown off from pizza, chicken, bloomin’ onions, and soda sales to his customers.
