What's new

Don't stab your friend in Saudi Arabia.

The family can forgive him if they want like this family above. We were not given the circumstances in what his motives were for stabbing but if someone stabbed me or my son when they were 14 years old I would be pretty pissed.

I'd be pissed too. Throw him in prison for the rest of his life for all that I care. He seems like a danger to society. And make him work in prison and pay restitution to the person he stabbed.

But this whole punishment system is dumb.

So if some sick **** molests my child is the proper punishment for me (or a family member) to molest his child unless he pays money? The logic here is the same.

While I do agree with you to a certain extant I think the example you gave is very different from what they implement. The child is not paying for the crime of the father.

It's called "kısas" and it's close to retribution in Christianity and basically it's eye for an eye. They used to cut it off, but even they can modernize their sanction I guess.

No they cut his dick off. And make him eat it, crap it then eat again. Endless recycle.

Ok I've made up the part after the 1st sentence.

They all happen to have the same religion (or more accurately, it's the dominant religion of the populace in all those countries), and they base the stupid law off their religion. I don't care about their religion though. As far as I know they don't do this crap in Jordan and they are heavily Muslim. Saudi Arabia happens to be one of the worst countries for this.

I honestly hate Southeast Asian countries and their crappy civil rights too (the Singapores and Malaysias and such) and it's all cultural and not a religious thing at all.

I, being from Jordan, disagree with this view. They're not nearly as backward as Saudi Arabia, but they still have Muslim-inspired "honor" based mentality where killing one's relative for having extramarital affairs will probably land you in prison for a few months. Hell, my own cousin killed 7 people in a car accident while driving drunk. And his rich family just paid the survivors off to drop the charges, because you're allowed to do that in Islamic law.

Trust me, Islam ****s on every country it touches. Even the relatively enlightened Turkey.

Turkey is getting less and less religious as its economy is booming. Oh wait nvm.

You said Islam is holding Turkey back. I am simply pointing out that you have no evidence for your assertions once again. I am a man of science, reason, logic, and rationality so obviously I do not agree with you.

I would think that it should be clear to anyone who mentions "reason and logic" as much as you do that I'm referring to social issues. Turkey is not as progressive as the rest of Europe, and they still hold on to the small-minded principles typically seen in religious cultures (nationalism for example).

And before you go off on the usual tangents, I'm letting you know that I have no interest in your take on how atheist Nazis were or any of the irrelevant nonsense that you parrot each time Islam is mentioned.
