DWill legitimate top 5 MVP candidate? Legler thinks so...

He definitely deserves to be in the discussion, but he will put tossed aside because he is on the Jazz unfortunately. I know Malone won it in the era of Jordan, but do you think the voters and their bias won't go for LeBron, Kobe, etc etc?

I do. Deron is winning games, LeBron is not.

My litmus test is how the Jazz bounce back from a loss. Jazz like to make runs like this then drop about 3 in a row. Good teams lose one then bounce back. Deron will lead if the Jazz are to consistently bounce back from losses and prove they are a legitimate contender, if not the top seed. If the Jazz can avoid droughts then yes, Deron is a strong contender if recent play keeps up. He carries this team.

I also think he's taking it to the next level when playing the 2. He facilitates extremely well, and really shows off his court awareness at the 2. He might bump his assist and scoring averages up at the 2.

I don't disagree with anything you said. I just think in the end that voter bias will make it nearly impossible for him to be taken as seriously as a Kobe etc... Not arguing that he shouldn't be taken seriously.
