I am still having a hard time accepting catwoman in this one. I am afraid it will push it too far into the realm of cartoonishness rather than the gritty reality of the previous 2 films. I of course will go see it, but I don't have super high hopes. How in the hell do they top the Joker? I just don't think Bane and catwoman can do that. We'll see I guess.
 
Bane is one of the most underrated vilians ever, in part thanks to the gay michael schumacher and his abomination "Batman and robin", proving my point that gay homosexuals should not make movies for men. they must rather make chick flicks. (again i must state by gay i do not mean homosexual but :having or showing a merry, lively mood)


anywhoo. catwoman I had my doubts about her, but all i needed to hear was she was not played by megan fox, angelina jolie or natalie portman(You now the names everyone throws around whenever there is rumor about a new movie cast. on a side not they are sort of the female versions of johny depp the overrated actor who people wanted to play the joker once)

also she wont be donning the catwoman suit in the movie. which wont lead to cartoonishness. and she could still be done dark and gritty if certain animated batmans have shown(yeah maybe it wont translate to real movies)
 
I think the original Batman was, is, and will always be the best. I don't like the dark knight movies because the villains to me are the same that I have seen a million times on CSI: Las Vegas.

I was excited about the Avengers until I saw the remake of the Hulk (again) and that the bad guy was just Loki. Looking pretty meh so far. I am sure the effects will be great, but I don't hold any expectations for the story.
 
The use of Loki is traditional (as in, from the very first Avengers story). However, that had everyone fighting the Hulk. There seems to be something else going on here.
 
It's going to be interesting no doubt. And yes, Loki is a logical choice for the villain, and they set up that eventuality fairly well in Thor. I just think the whole thing looks too, I don't know, cluttered I guess. Too much going on at once to maintain a coherent fantastically plausible storyline that is still gripping and somewhat real. Each participant will be reduced to his caricature, and the focus will be entirely on action rather than any kind of story or motives or moral or whatever that gives depth to otherwise boring special effects displays.

I still plan to see it, and I am sure it will be fun. But I certainly do not expect it will be the complete movie that the first Iron Man was.
 
I talked about this in the movies thread Dutch. I'm like LogGrad, sort of cautiously optimistic but ultimately, not really high hopes. That said, i agree that this didn't show too much. Everything was sort of muddled. Very little Wayne/Batman or Bane. But I love Hardy's voice. LOVE IT. Kid's a stud. "When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die."

avengers ahs to much cgi

sure certain things can only be done by cgi.
but most directors nowadays go the route of cgi. cgi just plane sucks.
nolan always tries to do it without cgi and only does things when cgi is the only option
eg a lot of inception is maiinly stuntwork, complemented by cgi

he even did the zero g scene using different harnesses which does look real because the different angles on the harness.
he always goes on location filming batman begins in 6 countries, inception 12 or 13 countries.
dark knight rises dont know yet but atleast 8 if i'm not mistaken.

even with the batplane he did not use cgi. its jsut a plane on a car. using cgi only to cut out the car.

thats what good movie making is about.

avengers just plain SUCKS. i always recognize flawed physics laws and stuff in movies. with nolan movies it's hard.

anywhoo avengers will just be a fun action flick
