Evaluate Royce O'Neale

Here's a game from February where O'Neale probably had a fairly O'Neale type of game (I'm guessing, because I'm not really an expert on him). Not high scoring or flashy, but contributes in a lot of ways. It's against Real Madrid, one of Europe's better teams.

Bonus: guest appearances by Luka Doncic, Anthony Randolph, Jaycee Caroll, Anzejs Pacesniks, among other names you might have heard before.

Extra bonus: O'Neale's team's gold/yellow uniforms are close to the same color as the Jazz's new set.

For my part, I liked his playmaking more than I expected. Wasn't as strong on D as I expected (though he mostly guarded someone who was standing in the corner waiting for passes for 3 most of the time).

I didn't watch much of the game but from what I saw he looked like a journeyman Euro player with basic fundamentals for a pro player. Saw one steal but it wasn't anything outstanding. Average speed, quickness, hops. Just looked more like a guy filling out the roster and made little impact except for that one steal. Chris Johnson is better. I would not be surprised to see him cut but he does have a one-year guarantee, right?

Chris Johnson was a complete spazz with the ball. O'Neale seems much more comfortable with the ball and someone who will fit in well with Quin's offense.

I know I'm 99% smoking serious crack when I say this, but I see some small-ball 4 in this guy

Have to be really small. He looked somewhere between an inch and two inches shorter than the guy he was guarding most of the time (who's listed at 6-7). But, yeah, I thought that too after some of the summer league highlights (where he somehow looked bigger).

It did look like he was overpowered a time or two by Felipe Reyes (listed 6-9, 265) when he got switched on to him underneath.

Yeah, this is a major reason why I think he has a better shot to make the team than Bolomboy, who still seems to think/react too slow. We probably need all the guys we can get at this point who are able to make good decisions and have the all-around skills to execute.

I wouldn't go that far. CJ though was much quicker and a better perimeter defender. He offered something to the team unique with his quickness and hustle, but O'Neale to me seems just another body.

I'm watching the volleyball anime Haikyu!! right now. there is a guy who is at the end of the bench, i don't remember his name. reminds me of this guy. what was his name again?
