USA Basketball today announced that Utah Jazz forward/center Derrick Favors and forward Gordon Hayward were among 27 players chosen for the 2013 USA Basketball Men’s National Team Mini-Camp that will be held July 22-25 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Favors (6-10, 248, Georgia Tech) played in 77 games (eight starts) in 2012-13, averaged 9.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.69 blocks in 23.2 minutes per game. Favors registered nine double-doubles on the season, scoring in double figures 34 times while grabbing double-digit rebounds in 16 games. A 2010 first-round pick (third overall) by New Jersey, Favors was acquired by the Jazz on February 23, 2011 and was selected to the NBA’s All-Rookie Second Team following his first year.

Hayward (6-8, 210, Butler) appeared in 71 games (21 starts) in 2012-13, 11.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 30.3 minutes during his third NBA season. Originally selected by the Jazz (ninth overall) in the 2010 NBA Draft, the former Butler Bulldog scored in double figures 44 times, including scoring 20-or-more points on 11 occasions. Hayward has previous USA Basketball experience, having helped lead Team USA to a 2009 gold medal in the U19 World Championship in New Zealand. He ranked second on that team in rebounding (5.7) and third in scoring (10.0) and was selected to the U19 World Championship’s “Best of the Best Team.”
