Favors - Struggling

I don't know if the knee is still a factor or not but Favs just isn't finishing. He doesn't have that burst. I didn't even want him on the court tonight.

They need to concede and let him heal.

He has been absolutely atrocious on offense. Rocking a true shooting percentage of 39.7%. Our defense is still much better with him out there though.

Just watching him though, he looks like he is probably better off resting a bit longer. But what do I know, I'm as much a doctor as I am an nba player.

His back just looks tight to me when he runs too. It always has a little but it's noticeably worse.

Favors is one of my favorite players on the team, but his lingering injuries from year to year only make Lyles that much more important for the team....I just wanna see him at 100%

Favors is a solid player but never going be the all star some around here think he is going be. To many holes in his game on the offensive side. Reminds me of the PF version of Dwight Howard. Eventually a player flatline and doesn't improve and just is who he is. That is Favors. Solid player but honeslty on a good team he would be 4th option and be a starter based on his defense.

Joe Johnson is overshadowing a bit Favors offensive game.

I'm not worried, his game will come out slowly.

Yeah, I think he occupies a lot of the space inside the perimeter that Favors does. Makes it awkward for them to play together. I think Hayward's return will help him a lot.

Does this mean that all of the people who were playing Doctor and trashing the Jazz medical staff for coddling players were wrong? Maybe Favs really had a legit injury?

I don't recall anybody saying the injury wasn't legit. There were some who said that Favors, his offseason staff, and the Jazz medical staff should have worked harder to make sure the injury never happened in the first place.

Can you provide a link to the posters who claimed the injury wasn't real? tia. I'd like to read it.

Of course the injury is legit. That or Favors worked on his athleticism with the Collins twins during the offseason.

Locke said during the broadcast that the Jazz focused on getting Favors healthy in the offseason, and then were planning on using the preseason to get him in basketball shape. So basically he says that Favors is just out of shape and the first month of the season or so will technically be his preseason to get into shape.

There's a saying in many physical activity circles that goes, "It takes forever to get into shape, but very little time to get out of shape."
