Free Agency Paul Pierce and Ray Allen

Instead of using our $20M or so in cap space this year to get a couple lower picks I say we go after Paul Pierce or Ray Allen or both if they will come. Ray Allen I think has one foot into retirement while Paul Pierce is likely going to try and swing his way to the Clippers on the MLE. I think if we went to both and offered say $8M to Allen to come mentor for the year Burke, Burks, Hayward and maybe $10M for one year of Paul Pierce that would be huge for our team.

Enough with these middle of the road veterans. Lets go way overpay for a player who can teach Gordon and Burks how to take their games to the next level. Even our bigs would benefit from the championship mentality and super stardom personality that these two players have.

That said, I don't know that they would both come because of how they broke up in Celtic land but getting one of them wold be huge for our wings development. I am hoping for Embiid in the draft, with either a Stauskis or KJ McDaniels with our second pick. Having a Ray Allen on the team or a Paul Pierce would add some flavor to the team and some box office punch and both still have something left in the tank.

Then with the last $12-$15M in cap space you grab a pick from somebody by taking on a contract.

No lie I was thinking Nash would be the perfect has been to sign this offseason.

And then I thought about if we had Styrone.. imagine Tyrone having Nash on this team, it wouldnt matter if Steve was on crutches, a stretcher, in a coffin.. hed somehow get 41 minutes a night.

Because last time Ray Allen was a free agent, he was all about going to a bottom feeding team to do some mentoring.

If he wants to be a coach, teaching are non shooters how to stroke it would look awesome on his resume. He's older now, and has even less in the tank. And, there's the fact that the Jazz already convinced him to have a sit down convo with Trey before the Heat game @ ESA.

Neither would sign in Utah. They will both be chasing championships and probably stay with their respective clubs. Or I could see Allen going to OKC.
