If you are looking for some insightful novels to read, consider my books “Panama Nights” and “The Dangerous Countryside.” I lived in Panama in the late 1980s and did my best to make my story about life, love, and corruption there realistic, at least to some degree that I experienced it. My novel “The Dangerous Countryside” looks at Guerrero, Mexico, in which I lived for close to a year in 1999-2000. I do my best to illustrate the drug war going on at that time, a conflict that has now accelerated.
