That is simply insane. Everything I can find about the incident says that the grandfather was in no way shoplifting. He openly in front of many other people tucked the games into his waistband to pick up his grandson in the middle of the store, nowhere near the checkstands, not in secret. By another account a cop saw him, stopped him and was talking to him, but had first notified another of the supposed crime on his radio. When backup arrived, without assessing the situation the backup simply jumped the guy knocking him to the floor where he hit the ground face-first, knocking him unconscious. You see the aftermath in the video.
Of all the talk we have had of police brutality recently, in my assessment this is far worse than pepper spray.
That cop should lose his job and face criminal prosecution.
