Hayward and Favors finally made the NBA's Rookie Ladder

Me too. I was going to start 5 threads about it. Guess you beat me to it.

I actually checked the rookie ladder now and again to see if Hayward or Favors have made it on the list (but not every week - not that obsessed).

So it was actually a good surprise to see them this week as we only have a few games left in the regular season!

Hopefully they can move up a few places with the remaining games (no pressure). LOL

You've been waiting all year for it? So I'm sure you were pretty excited the last couple times Hayward was on it, right?

Not sure how they could leave them out after that huge game for Hayward (against Kobe) and Favors (against Lakers' bigs).

To be honest, as BAD as this year has been, and it has been horrible, I am very very excited about the future of these two. They both look capable of being far better than decent NBA role players.

IMO, they both look like legit NBA starters.
I have no problem with them coming off the bench for now, though. Not that CJ is great as a starter, but he's terrible off the bench. I think KOC will be looking to re-sign him and then put together a package with Miles and the rights to one or more of our picks for a starting SF. Hayward looks like the SG of the future. We have a good big rotation in Big Al, Millsap and Fvaors. So that leaves SF (I don't think Millsap is the answer) and an upgrade at PG. Harris is nice, but he's injury-prone and overpaid. Get a young PG to groom now or possibly with next year's GS pick.

Not opposed to drafting a big like Kanter at #6, provided his knees check out o.k. With Memo's future uncertain, Jazz could use more depth at the 4-5. We don't want another season of Elson. And who knows if/when Tomic will come over.

This shows that KOC isn't a total idiot, as some on the board swear. Sure - the Raja signing was an epic failure, but KOC has made some good moves. We have some nice pieces. And hopefully we can remove the scrubbiest players and can replace them with some contributors (we have a few picks and a few tradeable players - hopefully KOC can make it happen).

Nice idea. Mind elaborating on who that starting SF might be? I can't really see us getting anyone much better than Miles in a trade with just Miles & late draft picks..

What do you mean late draft picks? It would be Miles + the rights to the player taken at #12 + the 2012 GS pick (likely late lottery). I don't have names, but we got Jefferson for a couple of 1st rounders. Of course, Minnesota also wanted to cut costs and we had the Boozer trade exception. A lot depends on the new CBA. If teams really need to chop salaries, we might be able to trade for a higher-priced veteran since we'll have AK's salary coming off the books.

Actually after tonight's game, any wing in the NBA would be better than Miles......
