Hayward Redemption Thread

Going against the thread. Hayward, finish a layup and make your jump shots! Oh and don't sulk after missing one shot

He at least hit a 3. Hopefully he'll get some shooting mojo back. If he gets that three working again and learns some floaters etc., he'll be really special.

Hayward had his best 3rd quarter in quite some time.

How is he rewarded ? Sits the bench till 3.5 left in the 4th.

Then , gets pulled for CJ last minute. Does get put in for last possession.

Plus, Howard will be starting for him as soon as Bell his healthy (Target: Cleveland game).

Bad choice. Howard does not know how to fast break and he is not our future.

Ty just really pi$$es me off the way he cannot develop players

Just curious. You a Butler fan?

Hayward is a big tease. He shows signs of having a real game then can't hit a shot, then sulking. I'm still optimistic for the long run because his overall game and BBIQ is good, that he can just keep practicing his shooting to be good enough to hit the open shots. Then the rest of his game will flourish even more.

But he just needs to get mad. Get aggressive. When D-wade goes up early in first half and elbows him in the face, (and of course hayward gets a foul) Hayward needs to just whack him back 'in the flow of the game' somehow. I think that would get him going. I just wonder if he has that, teeth gritting, fist clenched determinism to not get beat.

Mods please merge with fallenchickens super awesome Gordon Hayward thread :)

On a somewhat related note, gordon had 12/5/5 tonight, with 3 of the rebounds being offensive. Also hit a big three. Also carried our offense in the third. Signs of the slump ending?

Hayward did a great job of buffing our lead with that little mini run he put on. That was pretty much our last big point surge and it turns out we needed it.

His rebounding offended you? I was quite pleased with it.

Listen to what this professional smuck says about Hayward's blocking ability. He has not seen a single game in which Hayward has played apparently. Hesitant to say why he made that statement about a 6' 8" relatively athletic professional basketball player.

I saw that too. I'm not surprised that much of the media knows NOTHING about a Jazz player, but the fact that he said that less than a week after the Rising Stars Challenge in which Hayward had like 3 blocks is just ridiculous.

Just like Favors.

When I took self defense classes (yeah they were lame) one of the best things I heard was to fight as if I was defending my family- this philosophy needs to be taught to Hayward I think. At the beginning of the season he still had confidence, was decisive and took it to the hole with ferocity. He needs to play like he's defending his family and forget his confidence issues.
