Hayward's game compares to Ginobili?

I also agree that he has a mix between Ginobili, Hornacek, a little Pierce, some fancy lad and some fancy moves. ;) heh

I really like how he's improved this last year. He really does have a great shot at becoming a continued impact player on our team. If we can pair him up with a complimentary PG (personality-wise as well) then I think we're golden. :)

I think a little bit in how he finishes around the rim. Ginobili does that as well, but Hayward does it with a bit more power.

I'm not satisfied with NBA 2K11's base rating of a sub-70 on Hayward. Yea hes fun to have on your Association and has good potential, but the way the game operates you pay way to much for a 80 overall player.

Think Ginobili's a better pure scorer. Even when he was a young player, Manu had a special ability on drives where he could cup the ball, take that extra Euro-step and contort his body to convert some spectacular layups. When he developed that step-back 3, he became a guy who could take over games and then live at the FT line with what I liked to call the "duck your head and barrell into people" move.

Both have the ability to pass off the bounce, but I think Hayward will be more of a 2 in the traditional sense, with the spot-up shooting, moving w/out the ball and playing more within the offense. Of course if he turns into the next Manu I won't mind.

I love Hayward, but what we've seen of him says he has about a 10th of Manu's driving ability. Manu breaks guys down off the dribble repeatedly every game. I remember whole games by Hayward, even in the last 2 weeks of the season, where he didn't successfully drive on anybody. Hayward's evolution will come first when he figures out how to get space on his shot. He could also be a nice pick and roll player situationally. But I'm doubtful he'll ever be a plus driver in the NBA.

I think what makes Ginobili so effective is his "awkwardness". He's a lefty, he has those long shifty strides, and his shot looks weird and is difficult to block. By no means would I consider him athletic but he does have great body control especially in traffic. I think Hayward is more athletic and could become a much better defender...not sure if Hayward will ever attain Ginobili's level of expertise at flopping though.

Not to mention that schnoz.
