What's new

Hooker, Up and In

Never in your life will you see a better 2-man game than we got the privilege to see for 20 years. Or really anything like Stockton and Malone.

...true dat! And the proof is in the pudding! Malone is second in NBA all-time career points scored (which might not be broken) and Stockton has all time NBA career assists as well as steals! (which will NEVER be broken!) I drove all the way to Atlanta to see them play together the year before they broke up.....and that $10 ticket was worth every penny I paid! (Got down to the lower bowl at the start of the 2nd half....and the close up of that classic pick and roll was a thing to behold!)

Payton got a ring with the Heat in 2006 (granted, in a supporting role, but he did hit some key shots)

I loved the Payton Stockton match-up. Two amazing, fierce, competitors, going at each others throats. And having the utmost respect for each other. I hope GP picks Stock to introduce him when he is inducted into the hall of fame (in fact, I'd be surprised if he did not give Stock this honor). Best defensive PG of all time, not even close (Kidd #2, maybe?). Top 5 overall PG.

I hope the NBA can get some new rivalries. Those were fun. I think players are too soft now. Too bad.

Did you see that at 2:06, it was that guy from Sugar Ray defending Karl.

Is anyone else mesmerized by Karl's wristbands? Funny that Sloan didn't allow headbands because they stood out, I think Karl's wristbands stand out more than any other piece of NBA gear.

Yikes.

I don't know about you guys, but these clips reminded me of how badly outgunned we were. Tag, Bruss, Shandon Anderson, and Jeff hornacek (well past his prime and rolling on one knee). If the jazz just had Favors, Hayward, and Foye, they would have 2 banners hanging up in the Delta Center.

We had subpar talent proped up by superstar play and a unique system.

Even the greatest players of this generation (Jordan, shaq, Duncan, Kobe, Lebron) had better surrounding casts than S&M.

You put just 3 players from this team who couldn't even make the playoffs onto that Jazz team in the late 90s, and you have championships. Or place S&M of the late 90s onto this jazz team, you have championships.

Anyone else want to imagine what Malone would have done to Bosh and Birdman?
