If you are Gordon Hayward, and the Jazz get Parker in the draft (the most NBA ready player. He is a 10+ year All Star right now), and the Jazz add a legit coach (George Karl/SVG/Thibbs/etc), do you take less money to WIN? If we get Parker, we are a playoff team next year. With Parker, Kanter, Favors and a good PG (Burke or a vet) we are a title contending team in a couple of years.
If you are Hayward, and the Jazz offer 11 per, and Boston/PHX/LA offer 13 per, would you stay and give up the 8 million knowing you have a chance at a title?
I'm not saying Hayward should. I fully believe that a player has every right to chase the money. Owners make a ton of money, and if a player wants his, I have no problem with that.
