How many times does Hayward get blocked per game?

Why does the outlet keep passing to Hayward down court when four guys are in front of him? He must have been blocked 6 times last night thinking he can drive into DeAndre and 3 other players. I'm sure he's just trying to put the ball out of bounds to give his teammates a rest.

And why is he releasing so early instead of going after rebounds? Small forwards need to rebound the damn ball. Maybe that's why Jordan kept getting offensive rebounds. Hayward was down at the other end hoping to cherry pick his stat sheet full instead of blocking someone out.

This kid needs to show that he's actually learning and trying to improve or be sat at the end of the bench for an entire month.

1 of those blocks should have been called off. Griffin grabbed the rim. That is a no no.

But yes I am concerned with his play at the rim. Not what I want to see.

Hayward had his shot blocked twice last night and shot 4-8 on layups/dunks at the rim.

I'm fine with the quick outlets at home early in the game because Hayward leaking out is really our best opportunity to score easy buckets in transition. In the 4th-qtr, however, EVERYBODY has to come back and rebound. On the killer offensive rebound we gave up to Mo Williams (that IMO was the play of the game) - down by 2 w/30 seconds left - Mo crashed in from the right side of the court to the FT line to rebound - and Hayward was out past the 3pt line.

At home and early I like Hayward getting out and running when the opportunities are there. Needs to learn to go stronger at the rim but so does Kanter. Young players will figure figure that out eventually. In the meantime I hope Hayward keeps trying to run himself to easy baskets and get high percentage shots.

Thanks for the input.

My concern is Hayward getting the ball at the 3 point line, with no help, 4 defenders in front of him, and he still thinks he has to drive to the basket. These ridiculous decisions are becoming more frequent.

It's the same thing when he drives past a defender into the paint and refuses to pull up 8-10 feet out. Instead, he does the same thing by charging full steam ahead and getting into trouble. He needs to use his head and slow down.

Hayward and Burks both need to be respected from deep + have an arsenal of mid-range floaters and jumpers.

Hayward's shot hasn't been faithful, so he thinks he needs to punish the hole. Unfortunately, there are a lot of ****blockers out there.

I seem he get stripped more than he gets blocked at the rim. He needs to get better at protecting the ball on the way up and drawing contact.

Hayward's girlfriend hasn't been faithful, so he thinks he needs to punish the hoe. Unfortunately, there are a lot of ****blockers out there.

I hate **** blockers as much as the next guy, but in no way condone punishing hoe's.

Bzzzz...wrong. The Play of the Game that sealed it for the Clippers was not anything Mo Williams or Chris Paul did, but when Griffin flopped against Millsap (and Stern's refs bought it), taking 2 points off the board for us... THAT was the play off the game, not Hayward forgetting to box out Mo Williams.

Actually, other than missing wide open jumpers, I was fairly impressed with the overall effort Hayward gave last night. He's definitely not getting any calls due to his youthfulness in the league! Griffin, on the other hand, and CP seemed to get to the line if anybody even breathed on them!

It's easy to rant about the refs not calling a blocking foul, but Millsap did make contact; Griffin merely sold it.

The biggest impact IMHO was playing Harris alongside Tinsley (or vice-versa) instead of Hayward for 7 minutes.

Elder Hayward did mess up on that Mo Williams shot, but he was pwning MW otherwise and getting in his head.

It was a no-brainer to keep Hayward (or even +6 Burks) out there for longer.
