Hunting or fishing adventure suggestions

My father is getting up there and I've wanted to take him on a hunting or fishing trip for a couple years now. He's an avid hunter who went on the archery deer hunt for a full month every year for 20+ years up until a couple years ago. Growing up, he fished the Provo 5 days a week until it became popular nationally, and hunted geese out behind Utah Lake regularly. The Green below Flaming Gorge was his favorite spot for a weekend trip. He likes to put in the work for the kill.

Any suggestions?

There's a great snipe hunting spot up Millcreek. All you need is a bag and a big stick, no guns. Just send him out in the dark(snipe hunting is done at night) and tell him to call out eeeeeehaw, eeeeeehaw every couple minutes or so. It may take all night, but it's well worth the effort for one of the most prized trophies in sport hunting.

Great post and an awesome son.

I don't have a great spot in Utah (as I just don't get the hunting rules in the United States), but I hope you hook up for a killer (pun intended) last hunt.

Kidnap a lowlife.
Give them a half hour head start.
Hunt them.

The best hunt and rush imaginable.

One thing that could be fun, especially for an older guy who doesn't want or can't walk forever in hopes the he might see something, would be a pheasant farm. There are several good ones in the Uintah basin. They aren't cheap, but if this is a last hurrah kind of deal, it may be worth it and I guarantee he'd have a blast (no pun intended).

Don't take Dick (Cheney).

He said he likes the challenge and wants to put in the work. "Hunting" an animal farm is neither of those.

When I was a kid, we used to make an annual trip to Roosevelt and buy Indian permits to hunt Pheasants on the reservation. Some of my greatest hunting memories of my life occurred in that area. Then one day some *** face decided to write to outdoor life and tell them how great of a hunting spot it was. Sure enough, they did a story on it, and within a few years it was overrun by everyone and his mother, and completely ruined. Funny how I really loved reading those kinds of magazines as a kid, and learned to hate them as a teen/young adult, as they ruined more than one hunting spot for me.

That's why I don't let many people on our place. I just let a friend of a friend come on and the dumbass shot a speed goat at 83 yards, slightly wounded it and couldn't track it down. He's not coming back again. I hate people.

Like I'm going to post my fishing spots here.....

PM'd. Also, hit up Trout duh. Dude's a fish whisperer.

Edit: Tried to PM you but your box is full. Surprise!

I've been thinking of a hog hunt but all I can come up with that's reliable is whitetail ranches (farms). Anyone hunted hogs during the day?
