Last time I was there in 1998 so I am not reliable source of information about current conditions over there. Depends what is your purpose of travel I guess. I know few folks who go there regularly for fishing and swear by it.

Yeah well, I'm asking from the year 2029...because I doubt I'll be going anytime too soon....so it's okay. Though If I heard good things about it I might move it up my mental travel list. I think the appeal would be centered mostly around historical Moscow/St. Petersburg sites..... so any contemporary conditions wouldn't really matter, unless they blew up those places or something. I don't know though, all these Lenin statues you see getting yanked down everywhere in the old USSR territories on the news makes me think I might miss the Russian "feel" if I wait too much longer.
