I know trade threads suck.....but read this.

So just hear me out on this, we need a PG, the draft doesn't really have a lot of PG's available and I think we all know Rondo isn't going to be coming here. We could get somebody like DJ Augistine, which I'm cool with, but I don't think he's a long term answer. So what I'm proposing is risky, because the guy isn't exactly proven...but I think I like it. I would specifically like PKM's reaction on this, because I think he knows this player more than anybody here. His name? Eric Bledsoe. Athletic, good handles, decent shooter, good defender...young and unproven. Lots of potential.

Why do the Clippers do this? They have Chris Paul, they want to win soon while Paul is still young and able. Bledsoe is somebody they can trade away and get something helpful for...will it happen? Probably not, but I think it's kind of fun to speculate.

Utah receives : Eric Bledsoe PG, Ryan Gomes SF/PF, Travis Leslie SG

Clippers receives: CJ Miles SG/SF, Raja Bell SG

In my opinion this is very slanted towards Utah, but maybe the Clippers would like a veteran defensive first SG like Raja and Miles is an expiring contract so they could spend more money on somebody else. Leslie isn't that great, but could be a defensive stopper, incredibly athletic. Gomes isn't doing essentially anything for the Clippers but has produced before and would be a nice guy to have off the bench. Like I said, this would most likely never happen, but I'm bored.

Hmm, a decent player with a serious career threatening injury for CJ..... I'll take it.

He played in the Clippers last game, only ~5 minutes, but his knee must be better. As to if he has retained his full explosiveness, I have no idea. But I mean, we're giving up Raja and Miles so.....who cares haha. I doubt the Clippers would take it anyways.

I suggested finding a way to get him a month ago. The suggestion wasn't received well. If I recall PKM didn't think he was a starting pg. I do still like the idea. What about giving the Clips Howard and Cj. They would provide depth at the wings and are both expiring contracts.

Must not have seen this, you mind giving me a link to that thread so I can read it? Much appreciated homes.

Not sure how exactly the new CBA deals with low salary trades, but I'd do Miles for Bledsoe straight up, I think it's a deal the Clippers would consider, as well.

Problem then is that the Jazz have four points on a 13 man roster (oh, and Carroll, how could I ever forget about him). Possibly a concurrent deal would need to be done with Harris (I'm not willing to cut Tinsley).

If doing a trade with the Clippers, I would do Bell and Harris for Mo Williams.
Clippers need a shooting guard and veteran leadership which Bell provides. Harris can fill the role of Williams off the bench and play alongside Paul. Combined Bell and Harris could fill void left by Billups and make Clippers a bit deeper.
While Williams is a shoot first PG like Harris he knows Utah's system and effectively ran it during his rookie year. I would assume, now he would be even better. Would be good to see him in a Utah uniform again and the deal would also save Utah about $4million in salary.

The Clips would laugh at that sad sack of an offer.

I would do it because we're not giving anything up. I wouldn't be that excited, though, because Eric isn't a high IQ guy. He's fast as they come, very athletic, can shoot (good but not great) .. just doesn't play the floor general role like we'd like to see. Just my opinion, of course.
