Is that not exactly what you were inferring? Farried is worse than Millsap, but you wish we could have gotten him so we could get rid of Millsap easier? Thats what I am gathering.
Was Millsap playing this well his rookie year? I know Fahried stayed in school an extra year, but it's not crazy to think that Fahried could end up being just as good as Sap down the road.
Fahried is more athletic, and has about 3 inches on Millsap in standing reach.
I think the people wanted Fahried wanted to trade Millsap to get some better wing players, and have Fahried as the backup to Favors. Trade away Present Millsap for Future Millsap and get a good wing player. By the time Fahried enters his prime the Jazz will be ready to contend. I think that was the thought process behind drafting him.
