If a Lockout Occurs, does that mean there is no NBA 2K12?

According to wikipedia they are planning releasing a new NBA Elite game in 2012-2013.

You have to admit, though, it was pretty hilarious how that whole EA NBA game thing went down. NBA Live had just been getting worse and worse and worse and falling further and further beyond the 2K series. It was so bad that EA changed the name of the game to NBA Elite just to try to distance themselves from the Live name. And even then, after running ads for it on television and everything, the whole thing got canned, probably because they realized the whole thing was just another giant pile of suck.

The fact that they are not planning on releasing one this season either, but plan to wait until 2012-2013, tells me that they probably canned their whole team of developers and are starting over from scratch. That can only be a good thing.

They are skipping another year before the first "Elite" will be released? What have they been doing the last 6-8 months? Was Elite 11 really that messed up.

I remember seeing a video were someone had gotten their hands on a pre-release of the game. You could do hook shots from 3 and shoot 100% on them, no matter the player.

EA does make NBA JAM of which the newest edition was crazy fun. The only thing that sucks about it is that they didn't do any roster updates.
